Thursday Thriller: Best Western Movies

In the next few weeks I’ll be doing Best WWII Films, Best Sports Films, Best Crime/Gangsta Films and Best Films of All Time-if you’ve got any suggestions then wing them my way via twitter or e-mail: dan @ danmartiextreme.com.

This is the second in a series on movies. Everyone loves the cinema, everyone loves films and everyone remembers watching classic westerns on Sunday afternoon with Dad! I’ve tried to not do all five old John Wayne films although he is the undisputed King of Westerns.

Here’s my list they’re all big, bad, mean films as all great westerns should be:

Unforgiven

Good always beats bad but in this one bad beats worse.

Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid

Timeless classic.

3:10 to Yuma

Mean and moody from start to finish.

Tombstone:

Wyatt Earp, the gunfight at the Okay Corral? Classic.

Dances with Wolves

This is in because it’s sometimes good to see the other side.

Honourable mentions go to:

Open Range
True Grit
Rio Bravo
Chisum
Young Guns
Three Amigos
