Thursday Thriller: Climbing Where You Ain’t Supposed To…

This weeks Thursday Thriller is all about rock climbing. Below are three stunning videos. The first is from Cuba where climbing is illegal, the second is on the ridiculously difficult overhanging Desert Gold crack near Las Vegas and the last one is climbing on Mount Asgard on Baffin Island in the Arctic circle.

The Life of Leo

Leo works on his family farm in the morning and climbs in the afternoon. Sounds pretty easy? No, not when climbing is illegal in Cuba and he faces police harassment or worse just for climbing some rock!

This is climbing superman Cedar Wright climbing in Nevada. Sounds pretty easy? No, not when the crack he climbing goes beyond vertical and overhangs to horizontal. Mental.

The Asgard Project

Mount Asgard is this mythical finger of rock jutting out in the high arctic. It doesn’t sound easy and it’s ridiculously hard. It’s freezing cold, almost vertical and incredibly remote. This is Leo Houlding and his mates sky diving into the base, climbing up and BASE jumping off the top (yeah, you read that right).
